GovHack is an open data hackathon (Local, State, National and International competitions to win prizes) held across Australia and New Zealand.
The event involves number teams of competitors to produce any kind of "hack" using Australian government data in around 46 hours, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
GovHack is for everyone! All sorts of people join GovHack, including entrepreneurs, developers, data analysts, engineers, designers, digital media creators, artists, film makers, story tellers, academics, researchers, youth and civic enthusiasts! and Data Mentors, Technical Mentors, Business Mentors and Media Mentors are available.
